ExhibitionExhibition dates April 2nd – 14th May 2023 On the @flowphotofest Flow Festival Website wall at Eden Court theatre in Inverness
The title of the exhibition comes from the caption I gave to an image I made a few years ago with a pinhole camera, the image documents the time spent looking for a geocache with my family in an area of woodland by the side of the Findhorn river. Instead of capturing a single moment, the 15 minutes spent searching and moving around was recorded, our many different positions layered, blended and only hinted at. I was reminded of the book ‘The Time Machine’ by HG Wells where when travelling forwards through time at infinite speed all moments were blended and layered in a similar way. Pinhole cameras typically make images using a long exposure time and the other images in this exhibition to greater or lesser extent capture lengths of time and an emotional connection to time spent in places rather than that singular moment we often search for.
